$ 2 million for the fight against HIV / AIDS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have donated $ 2 million for the fight against HIV / AIDS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia, reported the Global Health Committee. The agency said that the money from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation was intended to build a clinic in Addis Ababa and the establishment of a program to treat tuberculosis among children and adults.

The clinic will be named in honor of Zahara, the girl of 3 years of Jolie and Pitt. The small, adopted by the couple, was born in this African country.

“We hope that will become Zahara responsible for the clinic when older, and it will continue to see its mission,” said the stars in a press release.

The World Health Organization estimates that Ethiopia 1.7 million people living with HIV, while another 6 000 would be suffering from a form of tuberculosis that is resistant to drugs, reports the Associated Press.

Jolie and Pitt had also collaborated with the Global Health Committee to open a clinic in Cambodia, where their son was born seven years adopted Maddox. It has been in operation since February 2006.
